The Board of Directors Undertakes Major Renovations to the
Duncan & Miller Glass Museum
The Board of Directors addressed some important decisions regarding the Duncan & Miller Museum in 2008. There were heating and plumbing problems that required the proper professional repairs and more critical was the immediate need to address several serious concerns. These included failing porch support columns and old and dirty brick facing on the museum – the building had begun to look as though it was in a state of disrepair. In addition, parts of the facing had loosened and started to fall from the building exposing the wood siding.
The decision was made to make significant upgrades to the building facade. A local company was contracted to remove the brick facing, clean the soffit and fascia, and add insulation. Vinyl siding, porch support columns, new windowsills, and porch railings were also installed.
The work was completed in mid-December of 2008.
